#NEXTGEN

Art and Impact on the programme of this year’s NextGen event in Rome.

For the second consecutive year, nearly forty "NextGeners" from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East were invited to the Villa Medici between 13 and 15 November 2023 to explore the theme: "Amplify your Impact through Art".

NextGen Experience 2023 I BNP Paribas Wealth Management

The aim of this new edition was to raise awareness among this young generation (the heirs and heiresses of our clients) of the importance of giving meaning to their future projects through art and philanthropy.

"What a better setting than the Académie de France à Rome-Villa Medici to gather together our Millennial clients from around the world to explore the fields of art, culture, sustainable initiatives, and social developments. It is in this place, steeped in history and conducive to creativity that we wanted to offer an immersive and unprecedented experience to this young generation, providing them with a dedicated place to openly share their ideas and foster the development of virtuous ecosystems."

"These three rich and inspiring days allowed the next generation of our Entrepreneur and Family clients to immerse themselves in the creative and stimulating energy of the Villa Medici. Surrounded by our experts, as well as prestigious speakers, business leaders, and resident artists, they were able to take on board new approaches, be inspired, and discuss ideas with their peers. This new edition is part of what we call the NextGen experience, which we have been enriching for nearly 20 years, and which has helped to train a community of over 1,000 Millennials on essential topics."

The programme:

Over three days, participants were able to attend various workshops led by experts from BNP Paribas Wealth Management: Nathalie Sauvanet, Global Head of Individual Philanthropy Services, Edmund Shing, Chief Investment Officer, Eléonore Bedel, Chief Sustainability Officer, and Alison Leslie, Head of Art Advisory, shared their expertise in the fields of art, philanthropy, and sustainable investment.

Among the exceptional speakers: philanthropists and founders of various foundations presented their respective programmes and explained how through collective initiatives they used the power of art and artists to promote social change worldwide.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit Rome on private tours and attend lectures.

The visit to the Farnese Palace and to the Carracci Gallery, whose spectacular restoration in 2015 was backed by the World Monuments Fund with the contribution of BNP Paribas Wealth Management clients, served to highlight the significant impact of philanthropy in preserving our joint heritage.

Alison Leslie's historical approach also aimed to raise awareness, among this new generation, of the notion of social and cultural footprint by reflecting on the strong contribution of three important Roman families to the identity of the city. The prestigious legacy comprises architectural masterpieces, sculptures, and exceptional paintings.
